Watts Up?
The High Plains Library District has partnered with Xcel Energy to provide portable Watts Up? meters. Accurate and easy to use, these meters plug into home appliances to see how much energy is being used. Each meter comes in its own carrying case with instructions. Watts Up? meters may be reserved for checkout online at www.MyLibrary.us or at any High Plains Library District branch library in Greeley, Firestone or Erie.

Watts Up? is Easy to Use!
  • Plug Watts Up? meter into a standard properly grounded 120 volt AC wall outlet
  • Plug an appliance into the Watts Up? meter
  • Turn on the appliance
  • Watts Up? displays the appliance's current, minimum and maximum energy use
The Watts Up? meter will:
  • Record electrical usage in watts
  • Display cost of energy in dollars
  • Capture surge readings
  • Interface with your personal computer
  • Record duty cycles
  • Help you save money by lowering your electricity bill

American astronaut Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker lands on Planet 51 thinking he's the first person to step foot on it. Separate Lives: The History of Mary Rippon

Mary Rippon was the University of Colorado's first woman professor. She taught Germanic languages from 1878-1909. A popular teacher, known as a proper Victorian lady and spinster, she was praised for 'exalted womanhood' by President Joseph Sewall of CU. But, she had a secret that she took to her grave. Learn about the remarkable hidden life of Mary Rippon, with historian Silvia Pettem, author of the award-winning biography.
