Preservation 2010: Paper Documents

Jay Trask, head of UNC's Archives, will present the first workshop on how to best preserve and keep your paper documents. Future workshops include preservation tips for photography, oral histories, and heirlooms.

These Coeur d'Alene Indians trek from their Idaho reservation to Phoenix to retrieve the ashes of Victor's estranged father. Based on Sherman Alexie's "The Lone Ranger and Tonto's Fistfight in Heaven", this is the first film written, directed, and acted completely by American Indians.

Edible Books Cookie Contest (R)

Create cookies that depict scenes from your favorite book. Learn decorating techniques from a professional decorator then apply your new skills to create your very own edible book. You can choose to enter your work in the festival contest on April 1.

International Edible Books Festival (R)

Create cakes, cookies or anything edible that depict scenes or include the text or form of your favorite book and bring it to the Farr Regional Library to be displayed in the meeting room. Have your work judged for prizes, eat tasty edible books, and learn about new and exciting reads from other edible book creators. Children ages 5-10 will be judged separately from ages 11 and up. Attendance at the March 27th cookie or cake workshop is not mandatory to participate in this event.
