Winter Storytime Session
The Winter Storytime Session runs January 4 - February 26. Registration
begins Monday, December 28. Each library hosts a variety of storytimes and
bookclubs during this session. Please visit www.MyLibrary.us for complete descriptions and to register for specific storytimes, or visit your library and register in person.
Storytimes are now printed on bookmarks for your convenience and are
available in the library and online at www.MyLibrary.us.

Carbon Valley Regional Library
February Puppet Theater
4:00-5:00 pm, February 2
Join us for a special Puppet Theater starring Carbon Valley Regional Library's resident puppet friends. You never know who will show up to entertain us!
Family Film Night
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Snow Buddies (Rated G, 87 minutes)
Disney's adorable talking puppies are back, and this time they venture to
the arctic and team up with two new friends, Talan and Shasta, in a
thrilling dogsled race across Alaska. The group must band together to face
fur-raising challenges to win the race and find their way back home.
Painting Birdhouse Gourds (R)
1:00-4:00 pm, February 6
Carolann Evans of Lladyhawk Llamas, Lavender & Gourds presents the history and uses of gourds and talks about techniques used to decorate them. Each family attending will paint one birdhouse gourd. The birdhouses will be hung in the trees surrounding the library. Space is limited to 12 families. Registration begins February 1. Please come to the library to register and get more information.
Paws to Read (R)
6:30-7:45 pm, February 10
This program will give young readers a chance to read out loud in a stress-free environment to some very attentive listeners. Therapy dogs will be ready to hear some good stories. Each participant will be given a 15 minute time slot to share a story with one of our furry friends. Please register early by coming in or calling the library at 720-685-5100. Registration begins January 27.

We will read New Old Shoes by Charlotte Blessing. We'll find out what happens to some well-loved shoes that no longer fit and how they came to help a little girl attend school. We'll do a special activity and share a snack.
Gaming for Jrs.

Join other 3rd-5th graders to play a variety of board, card, and Wii games.
3rd-5th Reader's Club: Artist to Artist
4:00-5:00 pm, February 18
Join us to read and discuss several children's illustrators from January through April. Participants will use different mediums to recreate a project such as a beginning book, comic strip, or a pop-up creation.
Pajamarama
6:30 pm, February 24
Wear your pajamas and snuggle your favorite stuffed animal and blanket as you and your family listen to bedtime stories, lullabies, and songs that will prepare you for sweet dreams.

Book Club for Kids
6:00 pm, February 4
This club is for 3rd-5th graders who enjoy reading and making friends. We read, eat cookies, and have fun book talks. Kids are encouraged to bring their favorite books to share with others. The club meets on the first Thursday of every month.
Paws to Read (R)
6:30 pm, February 8
Paws to READ dogs will curl up on the floor to share stories with anyone wanting to read to them. Reluctant readers find that "man's best friends" are willing to listen. Therapy dogs sit quietly and calmly while children read aloud to them, allowing children to become more relaxed and confident about reading.

Paws to Read (R)

Paws to Read is a program for children in grades 1-5 who are able to read a book by visiting therapy dog. They may bring their own book or choose a library book. This program gives young readers a chance to read aloud in a stress-free environment to calm and attentive therapy dogs. Registration begins January 25.

Would you like to hang out and talk about books with other kids your age? Come to our Tween Book Club. We'll discuss a different book each month and do a fun activity. Snacks provided.
American Girl Book Club (R)

American Girl fans join our book club! Read about a new character each month and do an activity inspired by the book. In February we will be discussing Felicity and making a quill pen. Dolls are not required, but you're welcome to bring yours to share with the club. Snacks provided.
Bats! Science from CU at the Library
(1st-8th grade)

Learn about the world's only flying mammals, the bats, from the University of Colorado Science Discovery experts. How do these night-flyers care for their young? How large is a vampire bat? Did you know that some bats eat pollen and others eat fish? Learn about the diversity of bats and why bat conservation is important. Museum specimens will give patrons a close look at several species that live in Colorado. Seating is limited.
